Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Myanmar – these fascinating countries have been captivating people from around the world for centuries. It is a world of great beauty, vivid colours and sensational landscapes, but also one of mysterious cultural codes. We will explore the soul of the South East Asians and capture the region’s top sights from a bird’s eye view – using the world’s best helicopter camera, the Cineflex.
Each film will portray a South East Asian country by taking viewers on a journey along an old, historic road. The film moves forward on elephant back, old train lines, tuk-tuks, rickshaws, derelict buses and on foot. We travel with locals who we get to know in brief encounters as backpack travellers do. We stop at interesting places where we do in-depth portrays of people like a Buddhist monk, a rice farmer, a geologist discovering a cave. By travelling through the country we get to know the soul of its people. The subjects include everyday life, animals, traditional crafts, culture, cuisine and exploration.
